New electric meters, gas meters & new water connections

End-to-end new connection service for UK businesses — DNO, GTN and water wholesaler applications, MPAN/MPRN/SPID setup, meter installations, ICP quote comparison and supplier registration. New builds, refits, change-of-use and temporary supplies.

New connection services we arrange

New business electricity connections

DNO applications, MPAN creation, single-phase, three-phase and HV/CT-metered supplies. Quote comparison against ICP (Independent Connection Provider) alternatives to cut connection cost.

New commercial gas meter installations

GTN applications, MPRN setup, meter sizing (U6, U16, U40, U100, U160+), purge & commission and supplier registration for new build, refit or change-of-use sites.

New commercial water supply connections

Water wholesaler applications, SPID creation, infrastructure charge negotiation, sewerage connection and retailer selection across England, Scotland and Wales.

Meter upgrades & capacity increases

Single to three-phase upgrades, CT meter installs, smart/AMR fitting, supply uprates, fuse upgrades and de-energisation/re-energisation work.

Temporary builder's supplies (TBS)

Temporary electric and water connections for construction sites, events and pop-up retail — supply, meter and short-term contract arranged together.

Disconnections & meter removals

Permanent disconnection of electric, gas or water supplies for demolition or change of use, stopping standing charges on redundant meters.

New connections — your questions answered

How do I get a new electric meter installed for my business?
We arrange new business electricity connections and new commercial electric meter installations end-to-end — from the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) application and quote, to MPAN creation, supplier setup and MOP/DC appointment. Typical lead time is 4–12 weeks for a standard new connection and 12–26 weeks for upstream reinforcement.
How do I get a new gas meter or new gas connection?
New commercial gas meter installations and new gas supply connections go through the GTN (Gas Transporter Network — e.g. Cadent, SGN, NGN, Wales & West). We handle the survey, quote, MPRN creation, meter sizing (U6 to U160 and larger), purge & commission, and supplier registration. Lead times are typically 6–12 weeks once the quote is accepted.
How do I arrange a new water supply connection for a commercial property?
New commercial water connections are arranged with the local water wholesaler (Thames Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities, Anglian, Yorkshire, etc.) under the open retail market. We submit the new connection application, arrange the site survey, agree the connection charges and infrastructure charges, and register your SPID with a retailer.
Do you handle meter upgrades and meter changes?
Yes — single-phase to three-phase upgrades, meter exchanges (CT meter installs, smart meter upgrades, AMR fitting), capacity increases, supply uprates and de-energisation/re-energisation. We coordinate the DNO, MOP, MAM and supplier so the job lands on one date.
Can you arrange a temporary builder's supply (TBS)?
Yes. We arrange temporary builder's supplies for construction sites, refurbishments, events and pop-up units — both electric and water — with the DNO/water wholesaler, plus a competitive supply contract for the duration.
How much does a new business electricity connection cost?
Costs depend on load, distance to the existing network and reinforcement requirements. A standard single-phase domestic-style supply can start from £1,200–£3,000; a three-phase commercial connection typically £3,500–£15,000+; large-load (>200 kVA) connections requiring substation work can run £25,000+. We get competitive ICP (Independent Connection Provider) quotes alongside the DNO quote to bring the cost down.
Do you handle disconnections and meter removals?
Yes — permanent disconnections for demolition, change of use or unmetered supplies. We coordinate the supplier disconnection request, the MOP de-energisation, and the DNO/GTN service removal so you're not left paying standing charges on dead meters.
